The time trials are ON for 5 pm tomorrow. Alpine is grooming all night to get it ready.
This is the time trials for the State Final Individual race. The fastest 16 boys and 16 girls will face the same from the Brighton League on the morning of the State Finals STILL scheduled for Friday February 8th at Alpine.
This is a one-at-a-time race. Your best of 2 runs. We will be alternating schools per run. It is up to YOU to take your run. And take your BEST run. You are limited to 2 runs. Get up top and get in line as soon as they announce the course is open.
MONDAY 2/4 will be the LEAGUE FINAL. Top two teams go to the State Final. Please let me know if you cannot make it. I know it's very last minute, but we're trying to get this all going ASAP. Remember - this is our way into the State Finals! We have no chance without full teams.
Tuesday 2/5 will be the "Last Chance State Qualifier" at Mt. Brighton for the 3rd and 4th place teams (from the League Final) . Hopefully we won't be traveling to Mt. Brighton.
Thursday 2/7 will be a Wax Party (location and time to be determined).
Friday 2/8 - Everyone excused from school all day. State Finals at Alpine from 9am-4pm.
see you tomorrow.

Future Races
Team
I thought I would keep you up to date on what's happening.
The race scheduled for tomorrow looks like it might not happen. There is talk of pushing the State Finals back a week to allow the courses to be re-built. The weather destroyed the course and will takes some time to get back into shape.
I will keep you up to date on what's going on as I hear it.

League Final Race tomorrow?
well … I've been putting off sending an email because I've been waiting on a final decision … but it looks like we might not have a decision until tomorrow. I will let you know as soon as possible if we are racing tomorrow or not. If we don't race tomorrow I will let everyone know as soon as I find out about what the schedule will be for the final race and individual time trial.
Gotta love Michigan weather!

an event upnorth!
Hello to All the Michigan High School SBX coaches, riders and staff:
Saturday, Jan 26th Middle Earth Snow Series is hosting their annual High School SBX race for any rider that would like to race!
Coaches do not need to be there for your riders to race! You do not need a full team there to race! This race will run in conjunction with my USASA MIddle Earth Snow Series--those that are USASA members will have to race in their age group if they would like to earn the points towards Nationals and also race in the High School Race (they will only be charged for 1 event $25) Coaches--we will have a separate fun bracket race just for you!
The High school race will be bracketed separately from the USASA racers but run at the end of each heat we will do a Men's High school bracket and a Woman's high school bracket. Format will be double elimination if the number of participants are small, and a single elimination if the number of participants are over 16.
There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd individuals men and woman and great swag raffle from Ride 45 shop in Petoskey, K2 Snowboard will be given away, and many other prizes from Smith, DAkine, Bandits International, and more!
Registration: 9-10:30 in Boyne Highlands Cafeteria Entrance (located upstairs next to the coffe stand just before you enter to purchase food) No advance Registration is needed! Just show up ON TIME PLEASE!
Who can Participate: Any High School Age Snowboarder -No USASA membership is required-
Coaches: If you have a USASA coaches credential you will receive a free lift ticket for Saturday, Jan 26th and will be asked to volunteer to help with the race for the duration of the race. Your ticket will be good 9-9 on day of the race so you will have time to ride and enjoy Boyne Highlands! They are getting pounded with snow all this week!
Event FEE: $25 for the SBX race + lift ticket; anyone that is a USASA member will race both in their age group category and in the High school bracket for only $25 event fee.
Race is on the slope just outside the Registration area above the beginner hill and magic carpet at Boyne Highlands.
Helmets and mouthguard are required for all High School SBX racers! All High School rules will apply!
All Riders must purchase a valid lift ticket to race. Bib must be worn in practice and competition and returned at end of the race to be eligible for the swag raffle! Any bib not returned the rider will be charged $25 bib replacement fee.
ALSO this weekend at Boyne Mountain--US AIRBAG! Come jump and practice and dial in that next trick!
Click on the link below for information on the US AirBag at Boyne Mountain!
I hope to see all the high school riders and coaches up north this weekend! Snow conditions are at it's best in over 4 years! Boyne has much to do while you are there!
Many hotel options available in Petoskey, MI just a short 10 minute drive to Boyne Highlands. Go to hotels.com and put in Petoskey, MI
I will have Flyers to pass out at the races this week! Feel free to email, text or call me if you have any further questions!
See you in the GR8 WHITE NORTH!
Warm Regards & Snowy Daze!
1-22-13 Lineup
Team
Here's the proposed lineup for this evening. It is going to be COLD tonite. Please dress extra warm. Try not to leave any skin exposed - cover your face!
If anyone could bring a tent with sides and a heater it would be appreciated. I have also been asked to ask for any volunteers for course officials. We'd like extra so that we can rotate them out because it's so cold. They are going to make every attempt to run the race fast. So please be on time and ready to go.
I also picked up the hoodies today. So I'll pass them out after the race. I really wanted to have a practice tonite after the race, but I don't think it's a good idea with the temperatures. Please plan on staying after on Thursday.

Thursdays Lineup
Our first race is here!
Keep in mind we used the time trials for a ROUGH IDEA for the lineup. I will be making sure to get EVERYONE into the lineup on different race days. So if you don't race thursday - most likely you will be racing tuesday. But the lineup WILL CHANGE every race.
Even if you aren't racing, please show up to cheer on your team. I always need other riders in case of an injury or if someone gets sick. Those of you that haven't raced before, buddy up with an experienced team captain and have them show you the ropes about what to do at the start. Brian will be up there to give direction also.
Please be ready to ride and at the bottom of the hill at 4:45pm.
ALWAYS sign in with Me. If you don't sign in, you don't race. We are NOT doing the race bibs like last year. So you will find out your race position from me when you sign in. IT MAY CHANGE if someone is sick or injured.
Stay at the bottom of the hill until I tell you otherwise.
DO NOT ride the course. Anyone caught riding the course will be disqualified from the night's race.
Remember your helmet and mouth guards.
If you have questions, please talk to Brian or I or your team Captains.

I just received a call from Brian that the course is built. The start gate isn't in yet - planned to be put in tonite. So if you are available to get out tonite to test out the course, I would advise it!
I'll see you tomorrow @ 5:30 in the lodge.
